ACUTE ILLNESSES
An acute illness in medicine is described as a disease that is of a short span and appears suddenly. When one suffers from an acute illness, one tends to recover quickly, and there may be no need for one to take medication. The various conditions of acute illness tend to resolve rapidly independently or without any medical treatment. However, an acute illness might also be rapid at acting and critical enough that one might not make it. An example is a heart attack which is a fast onset, and it is a short-acting condition that can lead to the death of a patient or can be stabilized before a cardiologist finds the underlying problem. The term acute can differentiate illnesses from those that are chronic. Chronic diseases are illnesses that progress slowly and develop over time, thus becoming a long-lasting problem for the patient.
Moreover, a patient may develop a chronic disease from a sudden injury and vice-versa. A point to note is that the term acute does not explicitly mean that the illness is severe or lethal. Also, an acute disease could develop fast but cause more discomfort than anything else in a patient.
Symptoms of Acute Disease
Some acute diseases include the common cold, flu or influenza virus, and Covid-19 virus. One may experience the symptoms of; sore throat, cough, sneezing, fever, and headache. One may also experience a running nose, diarrhea, nausea, rash, sneezing, and headache. Fever occurs when a patient increases in average body temperature. A sore throat is whereby one feels pain or irritation in the throat. The irritation worsens when the patient tries to swallow foods. Nausea varies from one person to another. Dr. Di Pietro is one of the best cardiologists and a concierge care doctor in Florida at Fort Lauderdale. She often appears in the media, specifically the national news, to discuss health and other medical topics. Recently, Tiffany, the cardiologist, was acknowledged in the New York Post for her knowledge in concierge medicine. She spoke about the Covid-19 virus, which is a recent acute disease. She stated that many children are dying from the virus because the vaccines are not effectively working and because children do not have excellent immune systems to fight the disease. Dr. Di Pietro works with the medical concierges at level one trauma center at Broward health medical center in Fort Lauderdale to mentor residents to be future doctors. The cardiologist teaches at four medical schools as a clinical assistant professor, where she teaches third and fourth-year medical students cardiology. Dr. Di Pietro, while teaching cardiology, may tackle the examples of acute diseases and chronic diseases. While combating the conditions, the cardiologist will be able to highlight symptoms of acute illnesses and those of chronic ones.
Severe Acute Illnesses
Most of the time, acute illnesses tend to arise and go away on their own or with over-the-counter treatment with antibiotics or other medications. However, some critical acute conditions occur suddenly or rapidly and can show symptoms that cause the need to worry a patient because they could lead to their death. Serious acute problems include; asthma attacks, heart attacks, organ failure, pneumonia, and many others. An asthma attack is a condition where a person’s airways become narrow, inflamed, swell, and produce too much mucus making it harder to breathe. The state may be minor, and one can usually conduct the activities of the day, or it can lead to a life-threatening attack. A heart attack occurs when a blockage in the blood flow to the heart muscle happens. Organ failure is the stop of functioning of an essential body system. Pneumonia is an infection that burns the air sacs in one or both lungs, which may fill with fluid. These severe acute illnesses require immediate medical care to prevent fatal results. A patient seeking medical care or treatment of an acute disease prevents future complications or long-term problems. At the concierge consultants company, patients are provided with a clean and comfortable environment for their quick recovery. The company also operates on a 24 hour clock, meaning it has enough time to handle patients. The Concierge consultants company can receive patients any time of the day or night and attend to them, whether they have acute illnesses or severe acute illnesses requiring urgent medical care.
Dr. Di Pietro is always very helpful and will go out of her way to make sure I get the care needed. She is always accessible by phone should I have any questions, and she will follow up with me personally to make sure I am recovering well. Their office is very comfortable and has a home like feel. Much better than the normal doctor's office atmosphere. By far, the best doctor I have ever had!
Dr. Di Pietro has not only been a great physician for me, but also to my parents. My father had not seen a physician in over 30 years, and Dr. T made him feel at ease and calmly and comfortably walked him through everything he needed done. She has gone above and beyond many times for my family both in the office and in the hospital. Thank you!
Dr. Tiffany is a wonderful doctor full of positive energy and extremely warm hearted. Truly a blessing, I recommend her without any reservation.
This was my first visit to Dr. Di Pietro. I was greeted immediately and warmly. I found the Dr and her staff to be very helpful and friendly. I would have no hesitations in recommending Dr. Di Pietro.
I highly recommend this doctor. Her nurse/ receptionist was very polite and accomodating. Very welcoming and comfortable office. Dr. Tiffany made the visit very comfortable she has a beautiful personality that makes her bedside manner excellent. She doesn't leave until you have had all questions or concerns answered- you don't feel as though you're "just another patient" she makes you feel that she cares about people, something that sadly not all doctors share. I would recommend her to all my friends and family.
First time seeing Doctor Di Pietro, very informative and addressed my concerns. Followed up with me days after my visit to see how I was doing. Facility is clean and Dr. Di Pietro shows interest and care for her patients.
Dr. T rocks! She's a great Dr. and normal person. She's real, she's fun, and I love going to her office.
Love it here! First time I ever left a doctors office happy and optimistic! She listened to everything and went through each part and explained it and decided on a plan of care. She truly cares what happens to her patients and wants to help them. I left with a clear plan, steps to take on the road to getting better. I see her again in two months and i am looking forward to it! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!
I feel very fortunate to have found Dr. Di Pietro since I moved here 2 months ago. She provides helpful information in an honest, and straightforward manner. She genuinely cares about you and your health. I feel doctor's like this don't happen often.
I have arrived at both my visits early and was taken within 5-10 minutes ! Dr. Di Pietro explained the results of my tests so that I had a clear understanding of them. I felt she listened to what I had to say, it was a collaborative decision on my treatment.
She found a problem that may have saved my life. She is outstanding!
Excellent doctor. Crisp, fresh and practical approach to health care---medical needs. The office staff--Karina is fantastic and insures an effective and efficient exchange with the insurance company/financial side of the visit.
